Various ODL TSC members raised concerns with me at ONS regarding their perception that the LF (yes, full LF, not just LFN) is increasingly acting like a business seaking growth via new projects vs simply supporting open source software projects. One concrete step to mitigate this potential miss-step might be to have completely open finances. If LF was significantly more accountable to projects about how they allocate resources it might discourage seeking growth for the sake of bolstering income streams. It might also discourage the black-box, top-down direction we've started to notice (see groups.io top-down mandate).
I think it would be ideal if we could do this for all of LF, but realistically we would need to start with LFN.
