 Description   

This issue is seen in lithium using the BGP application peer:

ODL <----> XRv

To reproduce:

  • Stablish BGP session to XRv router
  • Add a route in RIB using POST example in wiki
  • XRv does not receive any BGP update

Is this really fixed?

After using a distribution of 2 days ago (Jun 14th) still I can see the ERROR described by Ladislav Borak and I do not see any route in XRv.

I'm currently working on another part of application peer and I checked routes addition multiple times, it works. The wiki on how to add routes changed slightly, could you compare your steps with the wiki?

Also note that default BGP peer has peer-role Ibgp (this can be changed). Application Peer has default peer role Ibgp as well, but this can't be changed. Applying BGP, if both peers are ibgp, the routes are not advertised to each other. To test the advertisements, change the role of BGP peer to Ebgp.

After changing the session to ebgp:

  • For the first route exported using wiki instructions I get an MP_UNREACH_NLRI update which obviously does not import in XRv.
  • Any further attempt to add/delete routes according to wiki gets accepted in configuration but nothing changes in RIB operational + no update is sent to XRv.

Am I doing anything wrong?

I configured step-by-step what is in the wiki today and I did not succeed to export routes, at least in Helium I could see 1, in Lithium none
