 Description   

Steps reproduced:

1.Create IPV6 subnet.

2.Associate Router.

3.Boot VM.

4.Remove the subnet from router.

5.Reboot the VM.

6.Check for IP in VM.

Hi Pratibha,

Can you please provide the below details to confirm whether issue is there at ODL Controller side.

Provide before and after subnet removed from the router.

  • table 45 flow entries
  • karaf logs with enabled DEBUG for IPv6Service Module (log:set DEBUG org.opendaylight.netvirt.ipv6service)
  • Share the exact time (Server time at the time of removal) for subnet removed from the router. So that i can verify the karaf logs whether after removed the subnet from the router still Unsolicited RA packet is reaching to VM or not.
  • If possible please do packet capture(tcpdump) on the VM side (Tap/VHU port). So that i can conclude whether still VM is receiving URA packet.

 

I have tested the same scenario with latest oxygen/fluorine and issue is not observed.

Removed IPv6 subnet from the router.

After that i have not seen any periodic unsolicited RA packet is sending from the ODL controller.

As confirmed by bug-submitter issue is not reproducible with latest oxygen build. Hence i am closing this issue as of now.

Please feel free to re-open the issue if this issue is occurred later build of the oxygen release.
