 Description   

In the legacy OpenFlow we supported configurable time for flow/port statistics, but using the config.ini file

see example

  1. The flow statistics polling interval in second (default 10 sec)
  2. of.flowStatsPollInterval=10
  3. The port statistics polling interval in second (default 5 sec)
  4. of.portStatsPollInterval=5

This would help with testing to limit the time take to get information from a device.

Different application mate wish to increase the polling time to not overload the device or decease to get more real time stats.

I hope the new Statistics Manager implementation could bring stats ASAP.
Is this bug still actual ?

Hi,

In the current implementation of statistics manager, independent polling intervals for parts of node statistics are not possible.

I Do believe this is still valid enhancement, Yes it now fixed the issue from the a testing point of view.

As different SDN use case may have the controller needing near real time stats or other can have that 60-300 second delay. So allow the user to set a value would be useful.

If we wish to track that in CONTROLLER-745 then i can close.

this patch adds possibility to set global statistics collection interval via config subsystem and should be available in Helium-2 release:

To set collection intervals for each statistics type separately, more changes to statistics manager are needed and it is targeted for Lithium. You should leave this bug open, so we can track when the patch that enables individual statistics collection intervals is available.

Main config option for statistics manager was merged and there was no need for separate config paramters till now (in older OFP he-design). In addition in current default design of OFP (li-design) direct on-request statistics RPCs were added in OPNFLWPLUG-672 also with the option of updating data in DS. Therefore closing bug.
