http://www.mojohaus.org/animal-sniffer/animal-sniffer-maven-plugin/ can give us accurate API change warnings, which is a requirement to keeping semver contracts. Integrate the plugin so that the report is part of autorelease artifacts and retro-actively build the signatures for Carbon release. The documentation on how to achieve this is updated in [1.]. While testing the plugin with some of the projects returns several false positives which requires the project committers or developers to determine or ignore the fix for the API compatibility. Therefore, as discussed I will send out an email to the community on the steps documented in [1.] on using the plugin. False positives might be a nuisance to the autorelease build unless each and every warning is resolved. rovarga can you confirm if we can close this Jira? |

We're close to the Oxygen release now. Is this something that's still important for us in Oxygen? |
