[CONTROLLER-840] Karaf .setenv script causes script erros with certain shells

I found in my shell environment the line:

if ["x$VAR" == "x" ];then

was causing an error because of the double equals. Since in karaf's scripts we do the same exact test but only use a single equals '=' we should use the same format.
