Specifically, it says:</p> <div class="preformatted panel" style="border-width: 1px;"><div class="preformattedContent panelContent"> <pre>The effect of a "uses" reference to a grouping is that the nodes defined by the grouping are copied into the current schema tree and are then updated according to the "refine" and "augment" statements. </pre> </div></div> <p>Which is to say that only SchemaTreeEffectiveStatements are to be copied – any other statement cannot be added to the schema tree, hence there is just no point in copying of it.</p> YANGTOOLS-1078
