Mounting a real hardware device can take a long time, depending on number of degrees, SRGs, ports, etc. The main reason is that a large number of Netconf requests are sent to the device for getting information required for the creation of port mapping in TPCE. This may not be very noticeable when working with simulated devices but when communicating with a real device, with limited processing power, over a potentially slow network, it has a major impact. It should be possible to speed up device mounting significantly by getting all information in one (or just a few) request instead.
